Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad

Do you hear that train a-coming? Thrill to the sights and sounds of steam powered railroading just around the bend from Tenaya Lodge at the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad. Vintage Shay locomotives provide the motive power for the one hour narrated excursion over tracks once used for logging trains at the turn of the century. Daily rides are available all summer.  Directions: Hwy 41 south, 2 miles on the left.

Ride the quaint "Model A" powered railcars. Our railcars were once used to provide transportation for logging and track repair crews. Antique Model A Ford gas engines power the trolley-like cars over the same route as the Logger Steam Train.  Directions: Hwy 41 south, 2 miles on the left.

Enjoy a delicious New York steak BBQ dinner with old fashioned ballads and toe tappin’ melodies by Sugar Pine. Then It’s ALL ABOARD for the Logger Steam Train excursion under the stars as the conductor’s narration recalls the past when loggers and Shay steam engines ruled the woods.

The Moonlight Special Train Ride on the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad is an experience not to miss. Guests are fully entertained with a train ride under the Sierra moon, a plated western BBQ and entertainment by the Sugar Pine Trio.  Directions: Hwy 41 South, 2 miles on the left.

Join the rush and pan for real gold at Gold Rush City, just 5 minutes from Tenaya Lodge. A Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine prospector will give a hand and demonstrate the technique to find the yellow treasure just like the Ol' Forty-Niners! Fun for all members of the family!
