"ULTIMATE COMPETITION" RED WINE BLENDING & LABEL DESIGNING WORKSHOP
9:00am - 10:30am | Presenter: John Giannini, California State University, Fresno Winemaker
Guests become a winemaker as they work in teams to create a winning blend from three base wines as John Giannini provides direction and helpful hints. This year, the teams will also have to bring their creative flair to the table, as they will be making their own wine bottle labels as well. Wines and labels will be judged and awards announced during the Saturday night Winemasters Gala Dinner.

"THE BIRTH OF WINE" GRAPEVINE GRAFTING WORKSHOP
11:00am - 12:15pm | John Duarte, Duarte Nursery
Learn about the historical perspective of why we graft, the steps of grafting and how to graft. Gain knowledge on the traits and characteristics that clones have and how do we decide what to graft. Each guest will graft their own grapevine using rootstocks ans scions from Duarte Nursery. Taste the California State University Wines from the Duarte Vineyards, demonstrating the difference between clones of the same variety.

"SWEET SURPRISES" FINE CHOCOLATE & WINE PAIRING WORKSHOP
1:30pm - 2:45pm | Presenters: Frederick Clabaugh CCC, Tenaya Lodge Executive Chef; Guy Debbas, Food Scientist, Chocolatier and Glacier-mixologist and Kenneth Fugelsang, CSUF Winemaster.
Learn the history and romance of chocolate, from the Aztecs to Europe, to today. Watch as Guy Debbas and Chef Clabaugh bring their culinary and chocolatier knowledge, pairing their confection with California State University, Fresno's award-wining wines. Recipes will be given for a take-home-treat!
