As California's original ski area, Badger Pass has been a favorite for generations of families. Unpretentious, friendly and affordable, Badger Pass ski area offers a uniquely stress-free atmosphere. Featuring one of the best sundecks in the Sierra, you can watch your children learn to ski or snowboard while enjoying the California sunshine. Badger Pass is a full-service ski resort offering ski and snowboard instruction, rental equipment, a ski shop, childcare, and a cafeteria and lounge. Open mid-December through mid-March, conditions permitting.

Yosemite's Badger Pass® in California is the ideal place to learn to snowboard..  With gentle terrain and beginner lifts, up-to-date rental equipment and a Guaranteed Learn to Snowboard lesson package, this is a great place for families to learn to snowboard together.  You'll also find a fun and beginner-friendly Terrain Park with over 15 snowboard features and plenty of room to learn new maneuvers.

Experience some of the best opportunities to cross country ski in California.Yosemite offers winter visitors access to the most beautiful vistas on earth, and the Badger Pass® Ski Area is the gateway to Yosemite cross-country adventure. Take the kids cross country skiing and enjoy nearly 350 miles of trails and roads in the park. Beginning at Badger Pass are over 90 miles of marked trails and 25 miles of machine-groomed track.  Cross-country track and skating lanes are groomed from Badger Pass to Glacier Point (a 21-mile round trip), and a three-kilometer track is set to the scenic Old Badger Summit. From tranquil snowy day-trips to overnight adventures, the novice and expert alike can create their perfect trip.

The Yosemite Ski and Snowboard School, first in the West, was established in 1928, and today employs a staff of 25 instructors, many of whom are members of the Professional Ski Instructors of America® (PSIA) or American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI). Yosemite legend, Nic Fiore, retired in 2005 after 55 continuous years as director of the Yosemite Ski and Snowboard School. His memory continues to inspire the passion for winter activities at Badger Pass.

With Badger Pass’s gentle slopes and dedicated staff, we guarantee that we will build your skills and confidence quickly.  All programs emphasize safety in a fun learning environment. For kids aged 4 to 6, check out our Badger Pups children's ski instruction program.

The Badger Pups Ski Program teaches children age 4-6 how to ski!  One lesson is $49, or get two lessons for $69.

Badger Pass child care is available for children age 3-9.  Rates are $10.50 per hour, or $95 for full-day.  Ski area babysitting can be purchased at the Pups Den.
