The Mariposa Grove is the largest grove of giant sequoia trees in Yosemite, and is located at the south end of the park near the Wawona area. There are two loop trails to hike: the lower grove (2.2 miles round-trip) and the combined lower and upper groves (6 miles round-trip). Highlights include the Fallen Monarch, the California Tunnel Tree, and the infamous Grizzly Giant; a 2,700 year old sequoia tree which is also the largest tree in the park.  Directions: 1 mile down Jackson Road - 15 minute walk/5 minute drive each way.
  • Please arrive 30 minutes before your ride’s departure time.
  • Riders must be at least 7 years of age, a minimum of 46" tall, and no more than 230 lbs.
  • Please no hats, backpacks, video cameras or MP3 players.
  • A minimum of four riders is required for this ride.
  • 24-hour cancellation policy.
