While Melanie’s career as a hotel industry sales manager has taken her from urban city hotel groups to lakeside and mountain resorts, her focus has always been on corporate clients. During her 20-year career, Melanie has seen plenty of change, but one thing that has always held true is her commitment to a rapid and accurate response and no-nonsense approach during negotiations.
An avid traveler, Melanie visits England frequently and has also been to cities in China, Europe and the coastal regions of Spain and the Balearic Islands. She finds traveling leaves her with an appreciation for impeccable service and true hospitality and strives to bring both to every one of her clients and their guests.
Melanie’s passions include her family and pets (not necessarily in that order) and, of course, travel both in the U.S. and abroad.
With Tenaya Lodge for over four years, Shelly was initially hired as a Conference Service Manager but quickly moved into her current role as her talent for building strong client relationships became obvious. Her 8-year background in sales and event planning, augmented by food & beverage management experience, makes her an ideal fit with the Tenaya team and for specializing in the small meeting and social market.
Shelly holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing Management from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She volunteers as a kids’ swim coach for the local Yosemite Marlins year-round swim club as well as with The First Tee of Fresno, an organization that promotes character development and life enhancing values to children through the game of golf in Fresno and Madera Counties.
Shelly lives locally with her husband and has two daughters, all of whom enjoy playing golf. Shelly can be heard yelling “fore!” the most.
