Q: Is it possible to claim unused day use entry tickets if people don't show up?
A:
Canceled day use entry tickets are added back into inventory and are released at 7:00 am Pacific Time, 48-hours prior to the ticket date. Note these tickets sell out very quickly, so be sure to be online and ready by 7:00 am PST. You can only add a ticket to your cart and proceed to payment if you are logged into your account.

Q: Are there alternative ways to enter the Park without a reservation?
A:
Yes! There are three alternative ways to enter the Park without a day use entry ticket.

  1. Book one of our guided Yosemite Tours. Your day use pass is covered when you reserve a seat on one of Tenaya's guided Park tours.Dining at Jackalope's outdoor patio at Tenaya Lodge
  2. Public transit is available on YARTS. Reserve your ride on a YARTS bus here.
  3. If you have a Half Dome permit (available by lottery only), a day use entry ticket is not required.

Q: I've done everything I can and still can't get a reservation during my travel dates. What can I do nearby?
A:

Stargazing near Yosemite National ParkAt the resort:

  • Splash around in the outdoor resort pool.
  • Take a walk along the trail between the main lodge and Explorer cabins through the woods and along the river.
  • Enjoy an early morning latte and take in a mountain sunrise.

  • Savor a romantic dinner on the Jackalope's patio.
  • It's dark in the middle of the forest, allowing you to view millions of stars in the night sky.
  • Order room service and take the time to finally read that novel.

Nearby:

  • Sierra Nevada Motorsports 4x4 off road toursRent a fat tire bike and enjoy miles of trails in the surrounding Sierra National Forest.
  • Go on an off-road 4x4 adventure with Sierra Nevada Motor Sports and get immersed in high country fun.
  • Hike to a nearby secret waterfall or giant sequoia tree.
  • Ride a vintage logging steam train on the nearby Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad.

  • Take a scenic drive to nearby Bass Lake.

Keep in mind Tenaya Lodge has a 7-day no penalty cancellation policy. Keep trying to secure your entry ticket, Boats at the marina at Bass Lake near Tenaya Lodgeguided tour, or public transit on a YARTS bus, and you can move or cancel your reservation at no charge up to 7 days in advance of your current reservation. Also of note, the day pass entry ticket system expires on October 31.
