The guests on our tours have a lot of questions. We're always happy to answer any questions you have about Yosemite in general or our tours in particular, but we try to answer some of the most common questions here. If you don't find the answer below, feel free to contact the Concierge.
Q: Where do I find out more about the different tour offerings?
A: Our main Yosemite Tours page is the best starting point.
Q: What will I see on Tenaya Loge Yosemite Tours?
A: It is dependent on the season and the current road conditions. When all roads are open and no park restrictions, you will see the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, Glacier Point, Tunnel View, Bridalveil Falls, Yosemite Falls, El Capitan and Half Dome. The tour goes to all of the most scenic and frequented places in the park. During our Winter season, Glacier Point and Mariposa Grove are closed due to snow.
Q: Do I need to book this tour ahead of time?
A: Yes, we recommend booking the tour upon making your hotel reservation. Tours often sell out.
Q: What differentiates your tours from others in the area?
A: We have a one of kind, customized tour bus. It is a converted Mercedes Sprinter Van. It is equipped with ‘panoramic viewing capability’. The ceiling and sides of our buses are all glass, creating unobstructed views of the park from every angle. Weather permitting, it also has the capability to roll back the roof for a full ‘open air’ experience. Our Guides each bring their own depth of wilderness experience of Yosemite. This adds a rich layer to our historical and fact based park information.
Q: Where do the tours pick up?
A: Our tour leaves from the valet area, in front of Tenaya Lodge. We recommend arriving 15 minutes prior to the departure time to ensure the tour leaves on time.
Q: Do the buses have bathrooms?
A: The buses do not have bathrooms; we make stops along the way that have restroom facilities.
Q: Can I bring my pet?
A: Only service animals are welcome.
Q: What should I wear?
A: This is dependent on the time of year. Yosemite and the surrounding areas experience all four seasons. You can check the weather forecast at https://www.weather.gov/
Q: What age is required on the tours?
A: All ages are welcome! There is no age requirement on the tour.
Q: Can I bring a car seat?
A: Yes, you must supply your own car seat and install it in the bus. Please arrive 15 mins early to install car seat. California seat belt law requires Children under 8 years of age must be restrained in a car seat or booster in the back seat of a vehicle. Children under the age of 2 must ride in a rear-facing car seat unless the child weighs more than 40 pounds or is more than 40 inches tall.
Q: Can I put my child on my lap?
A: No. California seat belt law requires all occupants of a moving motor vehicle 8 years of age and older to wear a safety belt. A: Please see the Tenaya Lodge Yosemite Tour main page for the basic details.

You will spend 30-45 minutes at Glacier Point, 15 minutes at Tunnel View, 30 minutes at Bridalveil Falls, two hours in Yosemite Valley, and an hour and a half at the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias. There is adequate amount of time at each location to stretch your legs, take photos and take in the scenery.
