Weather in the Sierra Nevada can vary significantly with altitude. Just within Yosemite National Park there is about 11,000 feet (3350 meters) of elevation change between the El Portal administrative area and the summit of Mount Lyell. Please note that some of these forecasts are off by a couple hundred feet because of the way the National Weather Service samples their forecast areas, but they will give you a good idea of what to expect at different points and where the snowline will be.

California is considered a Mediterranean climate, which means the summers are typically dry except for high-altitude thunderstorms over the Sierra Crest. Winter brings the annual rains which typically fall in a few substantial storms with long periods of blue skies in between.
